The annual hoisting of the Resurrected Christ in Castlereagh Street was missing one of its usual faces this Easter.
Beverley Ryan said she hasn't missed the Coonamble tradition since her late husband Ellis started it in 1998.
She had planned to go away with family to Queensland and didn't realise their holiday was during Easter until it was too late.
