Local trainer Michael Denison’s mare Emphatic Bel scored a good win at Gulgong on Sunday of the long weekend (8th June).
She ran 1000m from barrier 8 and won by 3/4 lengths, starting at $21/1 with Dubbo apprentice Shayleigh Ingelse in the saddle.
Shayleigh ended up riding a Gulgong double, winning the 1000m Benchmark 50 Handicap-Garth & Viva Fletcher Memorial Cup.
Emphatic Bel is owned by Michael, Fiona McCauley (daughter of long-time Western Racing supporter, Peter McCauley) and good friend JW Barker.
