Coonamble Shire Council is working to reinstate the area’s alcohol free zones, with previous sections expiring around five years ago.
Alcohol-Free Zones (AFZs) in the Coonamble Shire apply 24 hours a day to all public roads, footpaths, and public carparks within the urban limits of Coonamble, Gulargambone, and Quambone
The zones were last declared in 2018 and lapsed in 2021.
Council Director of Sustainable Communities and Planning Tony Payne said the Council is taking steps to review them.
