While croppers across the country are being hit with high fertiliser prices, Coonamble agronomists say local growers facing "dry as chip" conditions are so far unaffected.
Due to intense dry conditions, Nutrien branch manager and agronomist Andrew Schieb said farmers have no need for the fertiliser because they are not planting.
He reported prices for some chemicals have doubled since last year with urea sitting at the top of the list.
