Firefighters tackled a blaze in Gulargambone that took days to extinguish, cutting power to the town and threatening the hospital.
The Rural Fire Service (RFS) received the call at around 1:30pm on Friday 20 February to bushland between Skuthorpe Street and the Castlereagh River.
They worked to prevent the fire from reaching the hospital.
It burned about 13 hectares, including at least one power pole, before the RFS brought it under control.
However, firefighters were repeatedly called back to the site over the next few days as smouldering trees continued . . .
