News of expanding free access to the Japanese encephalitis (JE) vaccine couldn’t come at a better time, as recent data from NSW Health places 11 western local government areas as high risk.
With the detection of the virus in the late mosquito season, the vaccine is now available until the start of winter for those planning to visit areas for outdoor recreation, including fishing, hunting, boating, caravanning and camping.
