The owner of Coonamble Roadhouse says there has been signs of people stockpiling fuel as global oil prices surge amid ongoing war in the Middle East.
Robert Kirby says his retailers have been paying an extra 55 cents per litre on wholesale diesel since mid February, plus a 30-cent jump for petrol.
That’s already being felt at the pump, with diesel passing $2 and the Roadhouse restricting fill ups on large containers.
“This morning, we’re busier than normal, and over the weekend, we were busier than normal,” Mr Kirby said . . .
