A local grain producer lost around 25 tonnes of chickpeas after a near miss between two trucks on the Tooraweenah Road on Wednesday 12 November.
The farmer was driving a single-trailer road train towards Coonamble on a bend about 30 kilometres from town at around 4pm when he swerved to avoid an oncoming truck he said was in their lane.
“I was a shock to him as much as he was me,” the farmer said.
“I leaned over too far over the crown of the road and the trailer just whipped off . . .
