On September 27, the National Organisation for Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (NOFASD) Australia is coming to Coonamble to raise awareness for the taboo topic of alcohol consumption during pregnancy.
Mothers often either do not know they are pregnant or are not fully aware of the consequences that even a small amount of alcohol can have on a baby in the womb, Chief Operating Officer Sophie Harrington from NOFASD Australia said.
“FASD isn’t something somebody intentionally causes,” Ms Harrington said.
