Historic Coonamble icons could get new home

Coonamble’s historic Old Horse Trough and replica Cobb & Co carriage could soon get a new lease on life, with plans being considered to improve public access and boost the town’s tourism appeal.

The carriage is currently stored at the museum and a report to Coonamble Shire Council has highlighted concerns about the current placement of the Old Horse Trough.

It was originally located at the Coonamble Showgrounds before being moved to the roundabout at the intersection of Castlereagh and Tooloon Streets.
