A special part of Bourke’s rich Aboriginal history is being embraced by a former resident of the Aboriginal fringe camps.
Maureen Bates McKay says many people have contacted her since seeing her Facebook post about the upcoming celebration and recognition of the camps.
This special occasion will take place during NAIDOC Week Friday, 10 July.
Not only is this going to be a special event for the people of Bourke, but also for the many former locals who are traveling home for this occasion…
