A four-month redevelopment largely carried out by Walgett Shire Council’s own workforce has been recognised at the 2026 Local Government NSW Week Awards.
The transformation of the former Kookaburra Court aged care facility into eight flexible accommodation units won the Culture Change Innovation/Excellence in Planning and Development Services Award.
