Councillors have voted to boost priority for a rural road as part of a new Roads Hierarchy adopted on 12 November.
The 8.5-kilometre Merryoula Road had been placed in the lowest of six priority levels, which would have classed it as a service track without planned or unplanned repair.
Merryoula Road property owners Anne Mackay and Geoff Seccombe, along with user Donna Ditchfield, attended Coonamble Shire’s monthly community forum to dispute the classification, which defined the road as having access to a single property.
