Lightning Ridge residents remain under a boil water alert as Walgett Shire Council and NSW Health continue investigating repeated detections of E. coli in the town’s untreated water supply since June.
“We still investigating how that’s happening,” said Mayor Jasen Ramien.
Residents have been advised to boil water used for drinking, preparing food, brushing teeth and making ice until the alert is officially lifted.
