Liquid gold: water flows for Bore Bath project

The first major step towards an artesian bathing experience for Coonamble township came to fruition on Monday 16 July when drilling contractors reached their goal.

Water gushed from the bore on the Racecourse Reserve from a depth of 686 metres, which is the basement level of the aquifer from Pilliga sandstone into bedrock.

“The bore is air lifting at the moment from a depth of 45 metres at 23 litres per second and is free-flowing at 10 litres per second,” said General Manager Greg Hill.
