The Australian wool market recorded a modest recovery this week, with the benchmark Eastern Market Indicator (EMI) closing 5 cents higher at 1,977 cents after two consecutive weeks of significant losses.
The improvement was driven by stronger demand for Merino fleece, while crossbred and oddment types remained under pressure.
There were 28,960 bales offered nationally, 3,299 fewer than the previous sale series.
Despite the smaller offering, volumes remain ahead of last season, with 4,228 more bales offered so far this season – an increase of 7.4 per cent.
