Farmers across western NSW are expected to benefit from changes to concessional vehicle registration rules after the NSW Government eased eligibility requirements for primary producers.
The changes scrap the previous requirement that at least 50 per cent of a farm business’s income had to come from primary production to qualify for the concession.
From July 1, eligibility instead aligns with the Australian Taxation Office’s definition of primary producer.
NSW Farmers President Xavier Martin said the changes would deliver meaningful cost relief for farmers.
