Young cricketers from across the Western Plains swapped winter for willow when Sydney Thunder’s annual Country Blitz rolled into Gilgandra, giving local players the chance to learn from two of the game’s biggest names.
Around 35 children took part in the free community clinic, with One Day Cup winner Charlie Stobo and World Cup winner Tahlia Wilson leading cricket activities, signing autographs, posing for photos and answering questions from aspiring players.
The Gilgandra event capped off a two-day regional tour, with the pair also visiting schools in Warren, Trangie and Narromine to encourage more young people to get involved in cricket…
