The decision by the Federal Government to terminate the Inland Rail project has shattered years of economic anticipation leaving a trail of broken promises for the small community of Baradine.
Hopes of a major economic boost for the town have been dealt a blow following the Federal Government’s decision to scrap the Narromine to Narrabri section of Inland Rail, a project many in the community believed would generate valuable business opportunities through the supply of materials, local services and the establishment of a worker’s camp in the district.
