In a follow-up to our story early this month, ‘Kids and families at risk’ – Walgett mayor calls for action over asbestos, a works team from NSW Crown Lands visited Walgett last week to look at the town’s asbestos problem, without including Walgett Council in its consultations.
‘’We have talked with the Walgett Local Aboriginal Land Council and are looking to find a resolution as quickly as possible,” a NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (DPHI) spokesperson told the Western Plains App.
