Rural communities like Coonamble can often be seen as lacking when it comes to emergency services, due to our remote location and lower population compared to larger cities and towns.
However rescue helicopters can fill a critical gap by providing rapid emergency care and transport where distance, geography and limited local health services can significantly delay treatment.
The value of this emergency aerial response came to the fore recently when the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called to a property north west of Coonamble last Saturday 25 July, around 9:30am.
