The close-knit community around Quambone, Carinda and the Macquarie Marshes has been shocked by the death of local woman Mary Walden.
Following an extensive search operation spanning three days, the body of a woman thought to be Ms Walden, was located 2.5 kilometres from her home in a neighbouring paddock at around 12.45pm on Monday 4 September.
