Anil Baltaci didn’t know he was Australian until his mid-20s.
Born in 1992 to an Australian-born woman and a Turkish man, they separated when Anil was two.
The Turkish side of the family took custody, so he grew up there with his grandparents.
Anil has had no contact with his mother since then and does not know what she looks like, although he understands that she lives in Melbourne.
