After 50 years, Akubra hats can no longer be bought locally in Coonamble.
Akubra said they are no longer selling them to the Leonard’s Clothing store because the clothing store was not buying enough hats.
Sales clerk Melissa Randle from the Leonard’s Clothing Store said this is because they have not been allocated more than seven hats since sales dropped during the Covid pandemic.
She was disappointed that the Leonard’s clothing store would no longer be able to deliver clients with the special accessory.
