Coonamble mechanic Tom Shields has been fishing since he was a boy.
He hasn't been doing much of it since his children were born, but he took the chance to sink a line with family at Castlereagh Landcare's first carp buster over the weekend.
They were among over 100 people on Saturday 12 October along Coonamble waterways taking up the effort to curb the invasive European Carp.
