Firefighters rushed to a back yard at Tooloon Street, Coonamble, on Tuesday 15 July after smoke was spotted coming from a garden shed.
On-call Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crew working at a nearby business noticed the smoke at around 2:30pm and a customer left the premises to alert the occupants, who were unaware of the blaze.
“I looked out the door and I could see a heap of smoke, and I was like ‘geez, that looks like it’s more than just wood that’s burning,’” firefighter Leroy Ward said.
