Residents have spoken overwhelming in favour of an official public holiday for the Coonamble Show following a survey by the local council.
Almost 93 per cent of the 84 people who responded to the Coonamble Shire Council survey, opened in mid-July, said they favoured a full-day public holiday for the second day of the May shows in 2026 and 2027.
Council published the form to support an application to the NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet to officially gazette the holiday.
