Police say they seized a rifle from a home in Coonamble last week under a state-wide operation targeting domestic violence.
A police spokesperson said officers forced their way into house on Herrmann street at about 1:30pm on Thursday 14 August for a firearms search.
They said officers found a .22 calibre Baikal inside a bag in a cupboard.
"Inquiries into the firearm continue," the spokesperson said on Friday 15 August.
The rifle seized during the search of a Herrmann Street home last Thursday.
Police did not announce any arrests . . .
