There was one more surprise after the bows in the Hello Coonamble! show on Friday night.
Plaza Theatre director Jamie-Lea Trindall announced that a former Coonamble resident had donated $600,000 towards restoring the building.
The crowd gasped at the generosity of the gesture.
Although the donor has asked for their name not to appear in print or online, the significance of the contribution was not lost on the audience and word has spread like wildfire through a grateful community.
