Coonamble Shire Council are weighing how to protect Gulargambone children from vehicles after the second crash at Jack White Memorial Park in three years.
Fortunately, no one was in the park during either crash but it has flagged the danger and sent council looking for better protection for the facility.
Council’s infrastructure director Kerrie Murphy told councillors she has had several discussions with Transport for NSW over the playground and skate park next to the highway, with potential options including concrete barriers or moving the park to a safer location.
