Local retailers and motelliers were happy campers in July when the Coonamble Shire recorded its largest visitor numbers in recent years.
Coonamble Information and Exhibition Centre clocked about 900 visitors from outside the local government area (LGA) during that month, around 250 more than any other over the last five years.
Overnight visitors jumped 16 per cent from the previous July to about 3,700, while spending for that group almost doubled to $512,000.
