Residents along Wingadee Road are reporting a smoother ride as Coonamble Shire works to grade the entire road ahead of harvest.
Council crew have so far re-formed at least 20 kilometres of the route, including widening and raising.
Local landholder Don Schieb said he used to drive at around 40 kilometres per hour on the road.
Now, he can travel at double that speed.
