Western Plains under 13s boys showed grit against the best in the state to claim the NSW Rugby Union State 7s Championships on Monday 29 September.
The squad fought their way back from an initial two losses to win five games, including against New England 28-17 in the Mudgee grand final.
NSW Rugby Development Officer Mark Pitts the title is a club first.
“It’s the highest achievement by Western Plains, even the senior sides. No senior club has ever won any state title,” he said.
“Very, very impressive.
