A new blow-in who moved from near the coast in Kempsey late last month has been warmly welcomed into the Coonamble Rural Fire Service (RFS) District Manager position.
Although Mark Langham lived around 5kms from the beach, he says he had never been.“I’d much prefer swimming in a dam,” he said.
Mr Langham has been involved with the RFS for 26 years, with a history that extends to mining and the air force.
But the Coonamble farming industry will not be out of his comfort zone.
