Koonambil’s interim leader says the facility is a more inclusive place after they raised the Aboriginal flag for the first time.
The flag went up during a ceremony on Friday 10 October, where over 20 people including residents, staff and representatives from the Coonamble Local Aboriginal Land Council gathered out the front of Koonambil’s main building.
Local Weilwan artist Kevin ‘Sooty’ Welsh hoisted the flag.
