While the rest of the Coonamble High School were learning mathematics and geography, twelve lucky students from Year 7 to Year 12 were on an "eye-opening" day trip.
On Tuesday 21 October, the Rural Fire Service (RFS) and the State Emergency Service (SES) held a volunteering event for Coonamble High School, to showcase it as an option to volunteer or as a career choice for the young adults.
Between 9am and 3pm, the students were taken through a number of stations where they learnt the procedures for the different types of emergency services.
