Coonamble SES is the town's 2026 Community Group of the Year.
The volunteer unit claimed the award from a pool of five nominees at the Australia Day ceremony at the Showground Pavilion.
No one was more excited for the win than member Douglas Shields, who immediately leapt out of his seat and began cheering as he made his way to the stage.
