Work has commenced on the Tin Town memorial which forms a part of the Coonamble Art Trail.
The memorial is two large monolithic pieces of slate, being hand-carved with a record of family names and a map of the island created by the Warrena Creek and the Castlereagh River where Tin Town was located.
Last week a community BBQ was held at the Local Aboriginal Lands Council Community Gardens where the stones are being carved, and former residents of Tin Town, along with the descendants of families that lived there attended and participated in . . .
