Coonamble Shire Council have shown an interest in upgrading to the Coonamble airport as part of a bid for support under the Growing Regional Economies Fund from the NSW government.
The fund's purpose is to invest in regional infrastructure projects, with council being able to access up to $30 million dollars for worthy projects.
However, grants will only be given to projects with "regional significance" says Coonamble Shire's Acting Manager for Development and Growth, David Levick.
