Local resident Peter (Naka) Kennedy got a surprise when he found an echidna on the road near his property 'Nakadoo' a few kilometres north Coonamble on Wednesday morning 24 July.
The echidna had white spikes but is not believed to be an albino, as its skin and other body parts were dark.
"I have never seen a white one," Mr Kennedy said. "I know a bloke who is 85-years-old and he said has never seen . . .
