Better lighting needed for safer streets

Members from the Safer Coonamble Group spoke to councillors during their pre-meeting Community Forum on Wednesday 8 July, highlighting the town's street lighting issues.

Group members Sue Hargans and Daisy Leon said the lack of streetlights had been raised in various locations around Coonamble as posing a hazard to pedestrians and drivers.

The matter was raised by local residents, with the Safer Coonamble Group then putting a call out on social media asking people to nominate areas they felt were too dark for safety.
