Fire crews from the Hunter and Tamworth regions are due to arrive in the Walgett area tomorrow as fires continue at the Narran Lake Nature Reserve.
Over 14,000 hectares of land have been burned in separate fire events in the reserve and surrounding areas, after lightning sparked several fires last Thursday 9 November.
“We sent crews out there but due to warm, windy days that we’ve had since Sunday…and the fuel out there is quite high, so the fires are quite hard to control,” said RFS North West District Manager David Nicholson…
