Hilton Noel Pickette turns 100 on October 14, 1923 and as Victory in the Pacific day was commemorated on Tuesday 15 August he was happy to tell his World War 2 story for the occasion.
Hilton was born in Coonabarabran to Thomas and Lyle Louisa Pickette and lived at Purlewaugh where he went to school till about age 13. He then left to work on the family farm, Merriview.
