Mandatory livestreaming, unsealed information and expanded mayoral power are on the table as Coonamble Shire Council gets set for a shake up to their meeting rules.
The NSW government handed down a mandatory code of meeting practice in August for local councils, along with suggestions councillors may opt to adopt.
The new code bans closed pre-meeting briefings for councillors unless they involve confidential information, and mandates that information from closed meetings be released once it is no longer confidential.
