New and expanding businesses could receive up to $5000 under a proposal to revamp Council's business grants program.
The new Business Activation Policy would set criteria for a $35,000 funding pool in the 2025-26 Council budget.
Small business employing less than 20 people and earning under $10 million a year are eligible to apply.
The previous Council established a CBD Business Incentive/Activation Fund in the 2023/24 financial year, however, the rules around who could access the fund and how were never made public.
