COONAMBLE Shire Council has announced that they will temporarily not accept materials containing asbestos at their Waste Management Facility on the Quambone Road.
The news comes after a visit by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently conducted an inspection of the site and advised Council that the disposal of these materials was not being satisfactorily managed.
Daniel Noble, Executive Leader Infrastructure, said that it was not a routine inspection by the EPA and that Council had sought the EPA's professional advice to address concerns about the issue.
