Council staff are hoping to see a reduction in the concerning levels of illegal dumping of asbestos in our shire as the State Government prepares to launch a free material removal trial.
The NSW Asbestos Action Plan will begin next year, and offer households a free pick up and disposal service for asbestos waste.
"This program couldn't have come at a better time," said Director of Sustainable Communities and Planning Tony Payne, after the shire's busy year cleaning up illegally-dumped asbestos.
