The Australian wool market returned from the one week Easter recess with strong gains for a second consecutive series, with the Eastern Market Indicator (EMI) finishing the week at 1,825c/kg, up 39 cents, its highest level since June 2019.
Increased supply saw 44,765 bales offered (up 8,513) and meeting strong competition, lifting prices from the outset, led by Merino fleece types, particularly better style, high yielding, low vegetable matter lots, though all types improved as buyers competed for share.
