Nyngan’s Garford Restoration Committee is all fired up following news that their Garford-Hale 15 Fire Engine will be restored under the loving care of the Tamworth Classic Fire Engine Club in an act of good will for its fellow ‘firies’ in Nyngan.
Following a chance meeting by Rob Avard, Nyngan’s Current Captain of the local Fire Brigade, with one of the Tamworth Club volunteers, a discussion took place about the treasured ‘Garford’ and the Tamworth members wasted no time in agreeing to take a look, making the trip last Thursday to check out the engine.
Following an inspection of the Engine, by four members of the group, it was decided to take on the restoration which should be completed in around 12 months-time.
