Ex-fighter pilot buzzes Coona airshow

Clear skies and ace pilots made the perfect mix at Coonabarabran Airport as close to 1000 people descended on Warrumbungle Wings & Things last Saturday.

Around 20 planes put on an air show, were on display or simply flew in with spectators to watch on the day, including warbirds dating back over 70 years.

Former Royal Australian Air Force fighter pilot and racing world champion Matt Hall had the crowd fearing for his safety with daring manoeuvres at the aerodrome, where the ground level drops with the hillside…
